Beginning in September I will be facilitating a new training opportunity that I am calling The Mechanics of Ministry Motivation. During my 12 years of state and regional ministry leadership there has been a recurring question that has been presented to me by senior pastors: “How do I go about implementing the changes that are necessary to accomplish the vision that God has given me for this church?” This training will address that question and assist participants in moving toward the fulfillment of their God-given vision in a strategic fashion. These session will not center on obtaining vision, but instead they will help participants lay out a plan to bring the vision into reality. Participants will meet in a virtual setting once a month for 90 minutes in September, October, November, and December. I will facilitate these online gatherings, but this will not be a lecture-based format. The gatherings will be dialogical in nature and participants will share their thoughts on some assigned reading. Two books will serve as the basis for these discussions.
- The Leadership Challenge (7th Edition) by James Kouzes and Barry Posner
- Leading Change by James Kotter
This opportunity is being made available to senior/lead pastors. Any senior/lead pastor who signs up can subsequently invite their staff and key leaders to participate if they would like. The exact schedule for the monthly sessions will be established once a list of participants is developed. The goal is to be as accommodating as possible to all participants. If the need arises, I will schedule multiple sessions each month in order to provide maximum exposure.
If you are interested in taking part in this training, please send me an email by August 25 indicating that you want to participate. Do not hesitate to contact me if you would like more information.
